                FIRSTBUS COMPLETES THE PURCHASE OF

       51 PER CENT. OF BRISTOL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ('BIA')

FirstBus, one of the UK's leading passenger transport operators,
announced on 10th November, 1997 that it had been selected as the
preferred purchaser in relation to a 51 per cent. equity interest
in BIA.

It has now completed the acquisition for a cash and loan note
consideration of #40 million, with the possibility of a further
payment of up to #2 million if certain cost targets in relation to
building the new terminal are met.  Bristol City Council retains a
49 per cent. interest.
