Board Change
Entertainment Rights announces that its Chairman and founder, Rod Bransgrove,
will be retiring from the Board with effect from today. In the Company's interim
results announcement on 31 October 2008, the Chairman signalled his intention to
step down from the Board at the financial year end, which is now approaching.
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Sir Robin Miller as
Chairman with immediate effect. Sir Robin has been Deputy Chairman since 21 July
2008 and was formerly Chief Executive and Chairman of Emap plc, one of the UK's
leading media groups. Since 2003, he has also been the senior media advisor to
HgCapital.
Rod Bransgrove, commented:-
"I co-founded in 1997 the company that was to become Entertainment Rights plc
and have thoroughly enjoyed the process of building a world class catalogue of
entertainment assets. The Company now has a portfolio of over 3,600 hours of
high quality children's and family programming and, in Casper the Friendly
Ghost, The Lone Ranger, Postman Pat, Rupert Bear and many other brands, owns
some of the best known children's characters outside of the major US studios.
Having now established a new Executive team and a largely reconstituted Board, I
believe the time is right for me to hand over to a new Chairman, who was
recruited for this purpose. I wish the Board and the staff every success in the
future."
Sir Robin Miller commented:-
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Rod, the founder and architect of
the Company, for the last twelve years. His contribution has been huge and we
wish him well in his future endeavours. I look forward to working with the
management team on a successful conclusion to the current refinancing, leading
to a secure and profitable future as a company with many of the world's great
entertainment brands."
