Durlacher Corporation plc appoints Managing Director of Corporate Finance
Durlacher Corporation plc ("Durlacher" or "the Company") is pleased to announce
that Julian Hirst has joined the Company as Managing Director of Corporate
Finance.
Julian has joined from UBS Warburg where he was a Managing Director of its UK
investment banking operation and led its coverage of the European cable TV
sector. He previously led UBS Warburg's European technology investment banking
team.
Julian began his banking career in 1984 at Lehman Brothers, working primarily in
New York, before moving to Morgan Stanley to oversee its European media
investment banking team from 1995-1999.
Julian joins his twin brother, Simon, who was appointed by Durlacher in November
2002 as Head of Corporate Finance.
Christopher Stainforth, Chief Executive of Durlacher, said:
"I am delighted to have a banker of Julian's calibre and track record joining
our team. During his career Julian has been involved in a number of landmark
transactions including the restructurings of Telewest and NTL, the sales of
Cablecom and General Cable, the securitisation of Formula 1, the
recapitalisation of ONO, the IPOs of Future Network and Wellcome, and M&A
transactions for Carlton and Reed Elsevier.
"Julian and Simon, while identical in many respects, have complementary talents
and a proven ability to work together which will be a powerful force for the
Company. They will have separate coverage responsibilities, with Simon heading
up Corporate Finance and taking the lead on M&A execution and Julian focusing on
new business origination and corporate broking."
