   Downing Absolute Income VCT 1 plc  ("the Company") 
 
   Dividend declaration 
 
   7 October 2013 
 
   Further to the announcement by the Company earlier today of proposals to 
merge with five other VCTs ("the Merger"), the Company announces the 
follwing declaration of dividends which are conditional upon the 
completion of the Merger: 
 
   Ordinary Shares   2.0p per share 
 
   'C' Shares     2.5p per share 
 
   Subject to approval of the Merger proposals by shareholders at the 
general meetings on 30 October 2013 and 12 November 2013 and the 
completion of the Merger, the dividends will be paid on 6 December 2013 
to shareholders on the register at 8 November 2013.
