                  Repayment of 11.2% Redeemable Debenture Stock 2005/9

The Board of Bristol Water plc (the 'Company') announces notice of repayment of
the #1,776,000 11.2 per cent Redeemable Debenture Stock 2005/9 (the 'Stock') has
been sent to registered holders of the Stock. Cheques for the repayment of the
Stock are expected to be despatched on 3 January 2006.

Copies of the Circular have been submitted to the UK Listing Authority, and will
shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
Viewing Facility, which is situated at:
