Bristol Water plc

The Company announced yesterday its interim results for the six months ended
30th September 1999.

The Director General of Water Services, Mr Ian Byatt, has now announced price
limits for the coming five years.  He set the following K factors for the
years beginning 1st April -

  2000/01  =  - 10.0%
  2001/02  =  +  1.0%
  2002/03  =  +  1.0%
  2003/04  =     0.0%
  2004/05  =  -  1.9%

The Board will now take some time to study fully the price limits and the
extensive supporting documentation issued with it that sets out the
obligations placed on the company.

Bristol Water has the right to ask for the price determination to be reviewed
by the Competition Commission.

We will make a further Stock Exchange announcement when we have concluded our
considerations.
