    Benfield Appointment of New Director

    Benfield, the world's leading independent reinsurance and risk intermediary, announced on 25 June the appointment of William (Bill)
Riker to its Board of Directors with effect from 1 September 2008. 

    Following the announcement on 22 August that the Boards of Benfield and Aon Corporation have reached an agreement on the terms of a
recommended cash offer for Benfield, the appointment of Mr Riker will not now proceed.
