NOTES
1. Interim results are unaudited, but the 1998 full year's figures are from the
audited published accounts.
2. Earnings per ordinary share prior to 1999 are calculated on the group
profit/(loss) on ordinary activities after taxation, less preference
dividends and the 2,000,000 ordinary shares in issue throughout this period.
Earnings per ordinary share in 1999 are calculated on the group loss on
ordinary activities after taxation, less preference dividends and the
1,008,300 "A" ordinary shares currently in issue and entitled to a dividend
following a capital restructuring reported in the published accounts for the
year ended 31 December 1998.
3. The figures for the first six months always give a misleading indication of
prospects for the full year. There are many uncertain factors which
preclude a firm prediction of the 1999 result.
4. This statement is sent directly to the holders of listed securities. Copies
are available for members of the public at the Company's registered office.
