Change of Directors

British Sugar plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Karl Carter, its
Agriculture and Operations Director, and Marie Louise Clayton, its newly
appointed Finance Director, as Directors of British Sugar plc with effect from
1 November 2001.

Peter Jackson and Terrence Strain retired as Directors of British Sugar plc
with effect from that date.
