                       Comment on Compulsory Investigation


As was already reported in our news release, a former employee of Takefuji
Corporation, Kazuhiro Nakagawa, has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out
unlawful wire tapping. In connection with their ongoing investigation into this
matter, the authorities concerned came on November 14, 2003 to the headquarters
of Takefuji Corporation, Nakagawa's former workplace, in order to collect
documentation, which might have a bearing on the case. This is a matter
involving the alleged activities of a particular individual who happens to be a
former employee of our company. Nonetheless Takefuji deeply regrets any concern
caused to the public by these events.

Takefuji Corporation is determined to offer its full cooperation to the
investigative authorities to ensure that this matter is cleared up as soon as
possible.
