General Market Outlook
Market sentiment remains uneasy, but headlines continue to
report interest of major financial institutions, such as the George
Soros Fund, and increasing work towards positive relationships of
government acceptance or regulation. Alt coins are seeing pumps on
many exchanges, such as NEO, which had been on a major downtrend,
but many see as a good long-term play. XVG continues an uptrend in

Coinbase Looks to be the first SEC approved exchange
– Coinbase filed a Form D 506c with the
Securities and Exchange Commission for its Index Fund. Other major
exchanges have more particular, such as Gemini through the state of
New York, or international licensing, like Kraken with Japanese
regulation
The Exchange is making major strides to outshine their
competition with recent hires and additional versatility to their
platform. They recently hired Eric Scro, previously at NYSE since
2009 and J.P. Morgan before that. They also hired former global
head of sales for NYSE Euronext Christine Sandler. These hires are
likely in an effort to operate and bring interest to their new
venture capital fund, as well as their new Coinbase Custody program
for portfolios over $10 million.
Chinese Blockchain Development backed with big money and
government support - Hangzhou-based venture capital
firm Tunlan Investment is backing a new project along with local
Chinese governments to establish an industrial park area for
development and incubation of blockchain related technology. The
Xiong'An Global Blockchain Innovation Fund is the first of its kind
for the country, and may inspire similar projects in other
countries.
OnePay FX – The banking App developed
between Santander and Ripple is now live. This is the first example
of Ripple potentially aiding in substantial cross-border payments.
The app is only available in Spain, Brazil, UK and Poland.
