Talks to save General Motors Corp.'s (GM) German unit Adam Opel GmbH remain difficult and a solution hasn't yet been reached, Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Friday in Berlin.

A solution on Opel can only be reached if all involved parties recognize their responsibility when the rescue talks continue, Steinmeier said.

He said that the troubled automaker's long-term survival will depend on it receiving bridge loans from the government to stay afloat.
