SBM OFFSHORE RESPONSE TO BRAZILIAN MEDIA REPORT

SBM Offshore has received questions following the publication of an
article by Folha de S. Paulo about a potential settlement in
Brazil. SBM Offshore has not agreed to a USD$1.7 billion
settlement. Discussions with Brazilian authorities are at an
early stage and no numbers have been agreed upon.
Corporate Profile
SBM Offshore N.V. (the "Company") is a listed
holding company that is headquartered in Schiedam. It holds direct
and indirect interests in other companies that collectively with
SBM Offshore N.V. form the SBM Offshore group.
SBM Offshore provides floating production
solutions to the offshore energy industry, over the full product
life-cycle. SBM Offshore is market leading in leased floating

operation and the life extension of Floating Production, Storage
