Siemens AG said Monday that it will partner with Alphabet Inc.'s Google Cloud to integrate artificial intelligence into manufacturing processes.

The German industrial conglomerate said it will integrate Google Cloud's data-cloud and AI and machine-learning technologies into its factory-automation solutions.

Deploying AI to the shop floor can help employees by automating mundane tasks and improving overall quality, Siemens said.

"The potential for artificial intelligence to radically transform the plant floor is far from being exhausted," said Axel Lorenz, vice president of control at factory automation at Siemens digital industries.
