Beiersdorf AG said Monday that like-for-like sales in its first half fell by 11% due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to preliminary figures.

Sales at the group level stood at 3.51 billion euros ($3.95 billion) for its first half, the German maker of personal-care product says.

At its consumer business, sales fell by 11% on a like-for-like basis at EUR2.89 billion compared with the same period last year, while its Tesa business segment booked an organic decline in sales of 10%, Beiersdorf says.

Beiersdorf still can't quantify the impact of the coronavirus crisis on its business for 2020, it says.

Its second-quarter report will be released on Aug. 6.
