MONTREAL, March 24, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - In response to
an appeal from United Way Centraide Canada, National Bank announces
that it will donate $500,000 to the
COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund intended to support
those most in need in communities affected by the pandemic.
National Bank has been a proud partner of United Way Centraide
Canada for more than 40 years.
The Bank's donation, along with community donations collected
via the United Way Centraide Canada online platform, will be used
to provide essential services, community services and services for
senior citizens.
"It's always important to take care of the most vulnerable among
us, but it's all the more vital in these exceptional
circumstances," said Louis Vachon,
President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank. "United Way
Centraide Canada is doing an outstanding job of improving the
well-being of at-risk communities. That's why we need to continue
to support them in the current situation. I'd like to recognize all
the people who are doing their utmost to provide health and
psychological care and socio-economic support in these trying
times."
