Fiat Chrysler in Discussions to Help Manufacture Ventilators

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV is working with an Italian
ventilator manufacturer on how it can help increase daily
ventilator production using the auto manufacturer's facilities, the
company confirmed Friday.
Based in northern Italy, the epicenter of the European virus
outbreak, Fiat Chrysler and Siare Engineering are evaluating how to
share production processes and methods, as the Italian Government
expands the number of intensive care beds.
Manufacturers across the world are assisting governments with
medical equipment production as the coronavirus death toll rises
and hospitals struggle to prepare for incoming patients.
General Motors Co. and Ford Motors Co. are in discussions with
the U.S. Government on how their factories could be of
assistance.
Fiat Chrysler has suspended almost all car production in Europe
and North America in a bid to protect workers from the spread of
coronavirus and as global supply chains grind to a halt.
