The law firm representing Wirecard AG in legal proceedings against British daily Financial Times said in a statement dated Feb. 18 that a hearing initially scheduled for Jan. 27 was delayed at its request.

Bub Memminger & Partner said a Munich court postponed the hearing because "it was not possible to inspect the file of the public prosecutor's investigation, running in parallel, against employees of Financial Times Ltd. and other individuals until the date of the oral hearing."

Wirecard confirmed Feb. 17 that legal proceedings against the newspaper would go ahead.

The German payment company has been at loggerheads with the Financial Times following a series of reports in the British newspaper that alleged accounting impropriety at Wirecard.
