Wirecard AG has denied reports that a legal proceeding against the Financial Times has been suspended, the German payment company said Monday.

Wirecard filed a claim against the Financial Times and one of its reporters following a series of reports in the British newspaper that alleged accounting impropriety at the company.

The Financial Times said in a statement on Sunday that a court hearing set for Jan. 27 was postponed at Wirecard's request.

"Wirecard makes clear that this is an ongoing proceeding," the German payment company said.
