Deutsche Post AG (DPW.XE) said Wednesday that it is revoking the previously implemented price increase for sending private parcels via its mailing service DHL.

The German logistics company said it was canceling the price increase as of May 1 to "avoid a lengthy legal dispute" with German regulator Federal Network Agency, which believes the price increase to be excessive. The company said it didn't share the regulator's opinion.

Deutsche Post had increased prices for sending certain parcels, such as parcels of up two kilograms, by an average of 3% for private customers, in January.
