Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA (FRE.XE) said Tuesday that its hospital-operator division acquired two hospitals in Colombia for 50 million euros ($54.9 million), further expanding its presence in the country.

The German healthcare group said that Quironsalud, the Spanish arm of its hospital-operator segment Fresenius Helios, took over the hospitals Clinica Las Vegas and Clinica del Prado in Medellin. The hospitals have a total of around 300 beds, it said.

The acquisitions are expected to close in the fourth quarter and are subject to anti-trust and regulatory clearance, the company said.
