--Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (ISP.MI) and five banking unions have reached an agreement for 1,600 voluntary layoffs, Il Sole 24 Ore reports.

--Under the terms of the agreement, the Italian bank will hire 150 new employees, according to Il Sole 24 Ore.
