Volkswagen AG is cutting production at its main plant in
Wolfsburg due to a shortage of semiconductors, a spokesman for the
German car maker said on Friday.
Volkswagen will only produce during one shift across all
production lines at the site next week and introduce short-time
work for all other shifts in Wolfsburg, said the spokesman.
"The ongoing strained supply situation of semiconductors
continues to significantly disrupt global car production for all
car makers," he said.
At 0742 GMT, preference shares in Volkswagen traded 2% lower at
EUR191.00.
