Penn National Gaming Inc. on Tuesday said it plans to launch its Barstool Sportsbook mobile app in Illinois after that state's Gaming Board approved the company's application to offer online sports wagering.

Penn National plans to launch the app for android and iOs on March 11.

The company said it plans to offer promotional bets during the launch, "including odds boosts on the Cubs and White Sox to win the 2021 World Series."

"We are extremely excited to launch our online Barstool Sportsbook in Illinois just as the college basketball regular season wraps up and bettors begin their preparations for March Madness," said Jay Snowden, president and chief executive.
