Stellantis NV's brand Opel will stop production at a site in
Germany until next year due to semiconductor shortages.
"It's planned that production at the plant in Eisenach will be
paused temporarily from next week," a spokesman for Opel told Dow
Jones Newswires on Thursday. Employees will receive short-time work
benefits, he said.
Production in Eisenach should start again at the beginning of
2022 if the current difficult supply situation eases.
Trade publication Automobilwoche first reported the temporary
plant closure.
