Enel SpA and Leonardo SpA said Monday that they are entering into a strategic partnership on security, energy efficiency, satellite communications and electric mobility.

The two Italian companies said the partnership--for which they have signed a letter of intent--will lead to the development of innovative solutions in energy and electric mobility at Leonardo's sites. Security, digitalization and satellite communication solutions will be developed, with a focus on Enel's strategic assets, they said.

As part of the agreement, utility company Enel will supply electricity and gas to Leonardo, together with plants for the self-production of green energy and energy efficiency infrastructure, the companies said.

Aerospace and defense company Leonardo will provide Enel with security solutions and services, they said.
