Volkswagen Raises Targets for Emissions From Manufacturing

Volkswagen AG said Thursday that it is raising its targets for
the emissions produced from the manufacture of its vehicles.
By 2030, the German company said it will aim to cut by half the
so-called scope 1 and 2 emissions from its production facilities
and the energy it consumes, using 2018 as a baseline. It was
previously targeting a 30% reduction by 2030.
Volkswagen said the new targets have been approved by the
Science Based Targets Initiative, an organization that vets
corporate climate plans.
