International stocks trading in New York closed higher on Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 1.2% to 149.78. The European index increased 1.2% to 145.14, the Asian index climbed 1.2% to 174.12, the Latin American index surged 1.6% to 185.02, and the emerging markets index jumped 1.2% to 291.23.

ADRs of French IT company Atos SE on Wednesday plunged 17% to $2.26 after a report suggested that European plane maker Airbus SE is seeking a lower price for a minority stake in Atos's cyber business Evidian.

ADRs of Airbus SE closed up 2% at $32.79 after the European plane maker said it will no longer pursue discussions to acquire a minority stake in Atos SE's cyber business Evidian, saying a deal under the current structure wouldn't be in its interest.

ADRs of Infineon Technologies AG climbed 3.1% to $38.96 after the German chip maker raised forecasts for its fiscal second quarter and the entire fiscal year, citing the resilience of its core automotive and industrial businesses.
