Henkel AG & Co. KGaA said Wednesday that it plans to remove the plastic from the packaging of its consumer adhesives portfolio to make its products recyclable.

Starting this summer, the blister packs of its Pritt glue sticks will be made from 85% recycled paper and be fully recyclable, the German consumer-goods company said.

Henkel said the effort would help it save 1,000 tons of plastic every year. The company aims to cut the amount of virgin plastics in its consumer products by half by 2025.
