CARMEL, Ind., June 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Most of the nation's graduates with associate degrees in electronics specialties, such as Computer and Electronics Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering Technology, and Electrical Engineering Technology, were awarded their degrees from ITT Technical Institute.

According to federal data provided for the 2013-2014 school year, nearly 44 percent of graduates with associate degrees in Electronics Technology specialties earned their degrees at ITT Tech. The next postsecondary institution with similar degree programs graduated just over 3 percent of students, according to the most current data from the National Center for Education Statistics' Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System known as IPEDS.

"ITT Tech is proud to produce graduates for some of the most sought after careers in electronics technology," said Kevin M. Modany, CEO of ITT Educational Services, Inc. "Each year, we work with approximately 3,400 employers to stay current with workforce trends and update our curriculum accordingly. As a result, we're producing electronics technology graduates for our nation's employers."

HELLA is just one of the approximately 12,000 employers who have hired ITT Tech graduates in the last two years.

HELLA Corporate Center USA Inc. President Steve Lietaert said ITT Tech graduates hired by his global company understand team work and electronics infrastructures, which make them valuable employees who can work to achieve company goals. "When looking at trying to find the right skill set and experience level in the industry, we found that ITT Tech programs provided a lot of very good, hands-on experience that was needed for company projects," Lietaert noted.

HELLA is a global, family-owned company listed on the stock exchange that employs some 32,000 members of staff at over 100 locations in more than 35 countries. The HELLA Group develops and manufactures lighting and electronic components and systems for the automotive industry, and also has one of the largest trade organizations for automotive parts, accessories, diagnosis and services within Europe. The company is one of the most important innovation drivers on the market and one of the top 40 automotive parts suppliers in the world.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) jobs are predicted to grow to more than 9 million between 2012 and 2022. Approximately 88 percent of all ITT Tech students currently enrolled are seeking a STEM degree.
