The fundamental security gateway features in the demonstration included dynamic stateful-session bandwidth, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) aware security and encrypted tunnels for media transfer. The demonstration showed industry leading IMS performance performed on a single chassis supporting 50,000 mobile users with secure connections from their mobile phones and through the access network to the IMS core network, including protection for the SIP protocol and associated Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) media. Designed with next-generation networks (e.g., NGN, IMS, UMA, etc.) in mind - and scalable to 500,000 simultaneous users - the Reef Point Security Gateway enables carriers to provision innovative converged services at the edge of their networks at wire speed.
