This Amendment No. 2 (this “Amendment”) amends and supplements the Schedule 13D filed on October 10, 2012, as amended by Amendment No. 1
filed on June 11, 2013 (as so amended, the “Original Schedule 13D”), relating to the Common Stock, no par value per share (“Common Stock”) issued by American Financial Group, Inc. (“AFG” or the “Company”). Capitalized terms used and not defined in
this Amendment have the meanings set forth in the Original Schedule 13D.
After giving effect to the transactions set forth below under Item 5(d), the Reporting Person’s interest in the Common Stock is below 5%.

The shares reported in 5(a) and 5(b) include 2,092,662 shares held in the Reporting Person’s trust over which she has voting and dispositive
power, 461,194 shares held in a charitable foundation over which the Reporting Person shares voting and dispositive power and 719,751 shares held in a trust over which the Reporting Person has dispositive power.
Item 5(c) of the Original 13D is amended by adding the following:
