NASDAQ Stock Market Confirms WorldHeart's Compliance with NASDAQ Listing Rule 5550(a)(4)

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (NASDAQ:WHRTD) -
World Heart Corporation (the "Company") announced today that on
August 31, 2009, the Company received a NASDAQ Staff Deficiency
Letter indicating that the Company was not in compliance with
NASDAQ Listing Rule 5550(a)(4). This rule requires the Company to
maintain a minimum of 500,000 publicly held shares for continued
listing on the NASDAQ Capital Market. Subsequently on September 4,
2009, the Company received a letter from the NASDAQ Staff stating
that the Company has regained compliance with Listing Rule
5550(a)(4) and that this matter is now closed. About World Heart
