WebMediaBrands Inc.’s (Nasdaq: WEBM) Inside Network, the leader
in tracking application performance and market trends across social
and mobile platforms, today announced the launch of two new
research services, the Social App Research Service (SOARS) and
Mobile App Research Service (MARS). The new research services will
deliver monthly reports that include Inside Network data and
proprietary survey information.
The new services will tap the expertise of two of the best-known
analysts in the mobile and gaming industries. Ross Rubin, who
serves as Inside Network’s research director, will drive
development of the MARS mobile app reports. Rubin has over 16 years
of experience covering consumer technologies with a focus on
wireless and digital ecosystems. He was previously executive
director and principal analyst at The NPD Group and vice president
and chief research fellow at Jupiter Research.
Billy Pidgeon, who has joined Inside Network as a senior
analyst, will be principal author of the SOARS social app reports.
Pidgeon was previously a partner at the video game research firm M2
Research, and has held analyst positions at IDC and Jupiter
Research. He began working in the video games industry as a
producer in 1988 and has been covering video games and digital
media as a market research analyst since 1999. Rubin and Pidgeon
will also share their industry perspective at Inside Network blogs
and events.
