Nvidia Corp. said Monday that it has partnered with Massachusetts-based artificial intelligence software company Nuance Communications Inc. to provide radiologists and other medical practitioners with AI-powered diagnostic tools.

The tools would combine Nuance Communications's Nuance Precision Imaging Network, an AI cloud platform that interprets and transmits medical diagnostic-imaging results, and Nvidia's MONAI, an open-source medical diagnostic-imaging AI framework, the companies said.

Mass General Brigham, which houses Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, is one of the first major medical centers to use the collaborative platform, the companies said.

Shares of Nvidia at 1:35 p.m. ET were up 0.7%, to $164.45.
