At 4:30 am ET Friday, Germany's flash PMI data is due. Economists forecast the composite indicator to climb to 51.0 in March from 50.7 in the previous month.

Ahead of the data, the euro dropped against its major rivals.

The euro was worth 1.0783 against the greenback, 140.41 against the yen, 0.9989 against the franc and 0.8802 against the pound as of 4:25 am ET.
