--Luc Remont, a senior executive at Schneider Electric, has emerged as the front runner to take the reins of French power giant Electricite de France SA, Reuters reports, citing sources close to the matter.

--Mr. Remont, currently in charge of international operations at the French energy management and automation group, would replace EDF's long-time chairman and CEO, Jean-Bernard Levy.

--Mr. Remont is the preferred candidate of France's Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire, although President Emmanuel Macron has the last word and will make a decision in the next few days, according to Reuters.
