--Renault S.A., Nissan Motor Co. and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. plan to triple their investment for joint electric-vehicle development to more than 20 billion euros ($22.69 billion) over the next five years, Reuters reported Sunday, citing unnamed sources.

--The three car makers are expected to announce the plan on Thursday, the Reuters report said.
