Shares of Astra Space Inc. rose almost 12% after the space-launch company said it has been tapped by Airbus OneWeb Satellites LLC to supply spacecraft engines for integration into the portfolio of Arrow commercial small satellites manufactured by AOS.

Airbus OneWeb Satellites LLC is a joint venture between Airbus SE and OneWeb. AOS makes satellites for the OneWeb commercial constellation and Airbus customers in Merritt Island, Fla. The venture is making satellites for Airbus U.S. Space & Defense Inc. in support of U.S. government programs.

Shares of Astra rose almost 12%, to $1.05 a share. So far this year, the stock is down more than 86%.
