Stellantis NV said Friday that its Chief Executive Officer
Carlos Tavares has decided to leave the board of directors of
European plane maker Airbus SE next year.
"This personal decision should allow Carlos to dedicate his full
professional time to leading Stellantis to success, together with
the leadership team, through this critical transformation period in
the automotive industry," the auto maker said.
Mr. Tavares will step down from Airbus's board at the end of his
second term in 2022, the company said.
Carlos Tavares has headed Stellantis since the creation of the
company in early 2021 when car makers Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot
merged.
