Exor NV has returned to profit in the first half thanks to the
strong performance of companies in which it invests, as the
negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic recede.
The investment company said late Tuesday that net profit came in
at 838 million euros ($992.4 million) compared with a loss of
EUR1.32 billion in the first half of 2020 when companies in which
Exor has holdings felt the brunt of the coronavirus.
The company's net asset value climbed to EUR27.06 billion from
EUR24.04 billion at the end of last year.
Exor has stakes in companies such as Italian sports-car maker
Ferrari NV, the maker of Jeep and Dodge Stellantis NV, and Italian
soccer club Juventus Football Club SpA.
